Ciso Tool
Engineered to meet Swiss micro-mechanical standards and designed for perfect compatibility with premium mechanical movements.
The watchmaking sector in Belgium represents a unique intersection of heritage restoration, independent artisanal watch design, and high-end luxury diamond settings. While Switzerland remains the historic core of volume horology, Belgian cities like Brussels, Antwerp, Liège, and Ghent host vital hubs for watch design, boutique brands, and professional micro-mechanical repairs. Specifically, the Antwerp diamond district creates demand for customized cases and bezels integrated with ultra-precision crowns that support advanced diamond-setting configurations without sacrificing water resistance.
Furthermore, Belgium’s position at the administrative heart of Europe demands strict compliance with EU regulatory standards, such as the REACH regulation (EC No 1907/2006) and nickel release standards (EN 1811) for direct skin-contact metals. As a critical point-of-sale and custom design market, Belgian horologists demand watch components that combine Swiss-level mechanical tolerances with reliable, compliant materials like 316L (UNS S31603) austenitic stainless steel and biocompatible Grade 5 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V).
Our industrial support for Belgium covers three primary pillars:
Processed on Swiss-type longitudinal sliding CNC machines, ensuring ultra-tight tolerances for smooth stem thread engagement and zero play.
All alloys used in our factory undergo strict chemical assay validation to ensure complete skin-safety and compatibility with European regulations.
Utilizing high-grade EPDM and FKM (Viton) gaskets inside our screw-down crowns to withstand massive pressure levels suitable for professional divers.
The watch crown serves as the primary interface between the wearer and the internal mechanical caliber. It is the only component that must penetrate the watch case to perform winding and time-setting, meaning it is inherently the most vulnerable point for water, moisture, and dust ingress. To solve this, Ciso Tool engineers crowns utilizing premium alloys paired with specialized, dynamic gaskets.
Choosing the correct material depends on the mechanical stress, case compatibility, and finish requirements of the watch:
To achieve water resistance ratings of 10ATM to 20ATM (100 to 200 meters), a screw-down crown is essential. The mechanism operates on a spring-loaded clutch. When screwed down, the crown compresses a primary gasket located in the crown head against the edge of the case tube, while a secondary O-ring wraps around the internal stem inside the tube. Even when the crown is unscrewed for adjustment, the secondary O-ring prevents ambient moisture from reaching the movement.
Designed for professional builders and watch modders, ensuring seamless fit with popular automatic mechanical movements.
A closer look at our independent industrial manufacturing infrastructure, high-precision machining, and validation laboratories.
Founded in 2006, Dongguan Ciso Tool Co., Ltd. has evolved into a premier manufacturer of high-precision watch components and complete horological micro-mechanics. Operating an independent industrial facility that spans over 20,000 square meters, we integrate product research, prototyping, mass manufacturing, and finishing processes. Our dedicated R&D team consists of more than 60 seasoned professionals who focus on metallurgical stress testing, gasket optimization, and CAD/CAM engineering.
Our production floor is equipped with specialized CNC machines that handle complex, multi-axis machining profiles. This allows us to manufacture complex geometries, custom brand engravings, and anti-slip knurled textures with absolute repeatability.
The manufacturing process relies on dedicated machinery designed for precise watchmaking tolerances:
The horizon of watch manufacturing is shifting toward a dual-path progression: the preservation of mechanical artistry and the integration of technological functions. At Ciso Tool, our R&D roadmap focuses on three trends that will impact procurement and custom design for Belgian watchmakers over the coming decade:
Modern hybrid watches require physical control elements (crowns) that double as haptic rotary encoders, heart-rate sensors, or electrical contacts for ECG features. This requires a hollow interior that can house micro-sensor modules while maintaining dust and water resistance. We are developing proprietary sealing gaskets that allow rotation while maintaining contact conductivity.
To match contemporary aesthetic requests, we provide high-durability coating solutions including Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) and Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC). DLC coatings offer surface hardness exceeding 3000 Vickers (HV), making watch crowns practically impervious to scratches from fingernails, clothing friction, or key contacts.
In alignment with EU Green Initiatives and the shifting values of European consumers, Ciso Tool is expanding its use of recycled stainless steel and lead-free brass alternatives for crown core parts. These eco-alloys minimize environmental footprint while maintaining machining properties.
